Northside Hospital recently introduced the new Northside/DeKalb Imaging & Breast Care Center, formerly the Northside/DeKalb Imaging Center, in Decatur.
Northside/DeKalb Imaging & Breast Care Center is dedicated to the screening and early diagnosis of breast cancer in women, offering women’s imaging services performed in an outpatient setting, including:
- High-definition 2D and 3D mammography (screening and diagnostic)
- Bone density
- Breast MRI
- Fast breast MRI
- Ultrasound-guided breast biopsy
- Breast ultrasound
- Cyst aspirations
Each of Northside’s women’s imaging centers offers computer-aided detection technology, which offers “a second set of eyes†on every mammogram performed.
“Inconvenience is one of the biggest reasons many women delay their annual mammogram,†says Lynn Baxter, M.D., Director of Breast Imaging at Northside Hospital. “We hope that by increasing access to high quality breast imaging with excellent patient care that is close to home, we can save more women’s lives.â€
Additional services provided at Northside/DeKalb Imaging & Breast Care Center include arthrograms, CT, CT cardiac calcium scoring, CT Lung Screen – Low Dose, MRI (1.5T), ultrasound, and X-ray.
