City of Hope Cancer Center Atlanta celebrated the opening of City of Hope Cancer Center Paces Ferry. The new facility marks a significant expansion of City of Hope’s footprint in Atlanta.
The Paces Ferry location is the second City of Hope Cancer Center location in Atlanta. Both City of Hope facilities in Georgia are part of a national cancer research and treatment organization providing access to more than 2,000 physicians and researchers across five major national markets. City of Hope is known for its breakthrough cancer research and advanced cancer treatments, including cellular therapies, groundbreaking surgical techniques, and precision medicine approaches such as genomic testing and immunotherapy.
“As more of the Greater Atlanta community recognizes the unique lifesaving services of City of Hope Cancer Center, we are pleased to expand cancer care to this new location,” says Jonathan Watkins, President of City of Hope Atlanta. “This location will deliver patient-focused services for cancer prevention, detection and treatment, with an emphasis on providing for people’s physical and emotional needs.”

The new facility provides consultations with disease-specific experts in:
- Medical Oncology – including breast, thoracic (lung), gastrointestinal and thyroid cancers. The goal is to support informed treatment decisions with timely access to expert care.
- Surgical Oncology – including breast, thoracic (lung), colorectal and hepatobiliary (liver, gallbladder and bile ducts) cancers.
- Radiation Oncology – Consultation on the use of advanced image-guided technologies that help deliver targeted treatment while limiting the impact on healthy tissue.
- Breast Oncology – Breast cancer experts offer personalized care plans that may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and access to clinical trials, all tailored to each patient’s diagnosis and lifestyle.
- Pulmonary Oncology – Pulmonary oncology experts support the diagnosis and management of lung-related cancers and conditions, working closely with thoracic oncologists to ensure comprehensive respiratory care.
- Thoracic Oncology – Specialists in thoracic oncology diagnose and treat cancers of the chest, including lung and esophageal cancers, using a multidisciplinary approach that integrates surgery, radiation and systemic therapies.
- Gastrointestinal Oncology – Gastrointestinal oncology specialists provide diagnostic and therapeutic services for cancers of the digestive tract, including colon, liver and pancreatic cancers, with a focus on early detection and coordinated care.
- Endocrinology Oncology – Specialists in thyroid cancer are developing new treatments and diagnostic tools for this cancer type.
