Radiation Oncology Services (ROS), a provider of radiation oncology and cancer care in Atlanta for more than 25 years, will join Saint Joseph’s Hospital to direct clinical radiation therapy operations, effective July 1, 2008.
Nancy Wiggers, MD, joins the Saint Joseph’s team as medical director of the program along with Peter Possert, MD and John Giesler, MD. Under the medical direction of J. The ROS team of physicians has expertise in treatment of breast, lung, prostate, head and neck cancers, as well as gynecologic malignancies. ROS offices are located in the Florence Hays Erb Clinical Services building on the Saint Joseph’s Sandy Springs campus.
Saint Joseph’s also announced the addition of the most advanced radiation therapy, the Varian high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy providing additional treatment options for breast, prostate and gynecologic cancers. Construction is currently underway for an additional Varian linear accelerator complete with Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) offering state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment modalities. Installation of the linear accelerator is also expected by July 1.
